AWA members are invited to nominate for a position on their state or territory Branch Committee OR Young Water Professionals (YWP) Subcommittee. The Queensland YWP Subcommittee recently held an open meeting with members gathering in Brisbane, Cairns and online to hear more about volunteering for the committee. QLD YWP Subcommittee Member, Jonathan Jo, reminds us of the great benefits of getting involved.
The recent QLD Young Water Professionals (YWP) open meeting provided an overview of its strategy, the role of the YWP sub-committee and opportunity to nominate for the committee.
Current members shared their experiences, highlighting the benefits of involvement and opportunities for growth. The agenda of the April meeting was discussed, and the meeting fostered collaboration and knowledge-sharing among young professionals, supporting their involvement in shaping the water industry's future.
Nominations for the Australian Water Association Branch Committees, Young Water Professionals (YWP) Subcommittees, and International Water Association (IWAA) are now open! This is your chance to get involved in your local state or territory Branch, aligning with the Australian Water Association strategic plan. These positions carry a two-year tenure from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2026.
We strongly encourage nominations from across Queensland (not just SEQ), including members from various organisations and regions! Nominations close on Monday, 13 May at 5pm (AEST). To nominate for a committee, you must be a financial member of the AWA as of 1 May 2024.
