Circular Water Taskforce
A partnership between AWA and Circular Australia
Overview
The Circular Water Taskforce – a partnership between AWA and Circular Australia – brings together stakeholders from the water sector to promote the adoption of circular principles. These principles focus on the sustainable management of water resources, reducing water waste, and creating closed-loop systems for water use across industries and communities.
We work closely with the other taskforces under Circular Australia to ensure strong alignment across priorities and initiatives.
As part of this collaboration, we are focused on understanding how water circularity can be better integrated into planning and investment decisions.
What's underway
✓ Circular Economy Accelerator to be run at Connected by Water in Perth by Circular Australia
✓ Flagship project: Unlocking Circular Water Markets – Exploring market opportunities and outlining the policy, investment and partnership shifts needed to unlock circular water markets. It will highlight four high-potential opportunity areas and the coordinated action required to accelerate circular solutions across water, energy, nutrients and carbon. This project is being supported by Arup and Suez, with the report to be launched at Ozwater'26.
