Strategy 2030

Driving impact across Australia's water community to deliver a sustainable water future.

Strategy 2030 sets the Australian Water Association’s direction, guiding how we will inspire, connect and transform the water sector in pursuit of a sustainable water future. This Strategy builds on AWA’s strong foundations as a connector of the water community, and leans into greater sector collaboration, building capability and inspiring system-wide change.

Our purpose
To inspire, connect and transform the water sector.

A strategic shift

The future of water is becoming more complex. Climate uncertainty, growing demand, ageing infrastructure and changing community expectations are placing greater pressure on water systems across the country.

Strategy 2030 responds by setting a clear direction for AWA and the water community. It builds from what AWA does best: bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and creating connections. The strategy sharpens our role. It focuses AWA’s activities, partnerships and programs towards greater impact across Australia’s water community.

This is a shift toward greater connection and action to drive impact and outcomes.

Strategic priorities

Strategy 2030 is built around three interconnected priorities. Together, they provide a clear framework for focusing AWA’s work to 2030 and helping the water community respond to shared challenges and opportunities.
