The AWA QLD Branch is pleased to introduce a new networking group for older professionals. This is a great opportunity for ‘Elder Water Professionals’ (EWP) from all aspects of the water industry to connect and expand their personal networks.
It has become evident that some older professionals want a venue to enable them to keep in contact with their former colleagues. A new group has been formed to fill this gap. Initially referred to as the Retirees Group, it quickly became evident that those who have attended are still quite active professionally. “Retirees” does not quite fit the bill. So we have rebranded as the “Elder Water Professionals” going forward.
The group has only just started meeting. It is only small but very congenial. To date the meetings have mainly served as a venue to catch up with old friends, find out who is doing what and glean some industry news. The group does, however, have bigger ambitions that we are looking to flesh out in our future meetings.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 16 September at 12:00pm.
