Sundowner events are open for everyone, and all members so join us for an inspiring Australian Water Association SA Sundowner on the 30th of April 2026 to learn about innovation and water. This event will highlight innovation in the water sector—exploring how new technologies, smarter systems, and creative thinking are shaping more sustainable and resilient water solutions. From digital transformation to nature-based approaches, innovation is key to tackling today’s water challenges and securing tomorrow’s resources. Come along to learn, share ideas, and be part of the conversation driving change in water. Following on, there will be plenty of time for expanding your network over post work drinks & nibbles thanks to our sponsor GPA Engineering.

Our Speakers :

Jacqui Storey, Project Manager for Aged Care Research Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA)

Jacqui is a project manager, founder and innovation specialist with deep experience building and scaling purpose‑driven startups and projects in ageing, sustainability and the circular economy. Notably she contracted to SA Water as an innovation manager in 2022 so has an understanding of how innovation works in the sector.

She specialises in turning early‑stage ideas into viable products, partnerships and operational models—moving quickly from problem definition to MVP, pilot and scale.

Jacqui has founded and led ventures including The Warehouse Co, and Little Droppings, designing new service models, testing business assumptions, securing partners, and pitching within accelerator programs. Her work blends human‑centred design, lean startup thinking and strong delivery discipline to create solutions that are commercially realistic and socially impactful.

Alongside startup work, Jacqui delivers large‑scale innovation and translation projects across aged care and government - bringing entrepreneurial thinking into complex systems.

Dr. Adam Tomlinson, Principal Consultant, Infrastructure & Environment, Ricardo (Member of WSP) 

Adam completed his PhD in 2018, building an academic foundation in freshwater ecology, catchment management, and organic chemistry. Since then, he has developed a broad and practical understanding of the water industry through his work as a consultant, delivering projects focused on asset management, water quality, and water security.

Adam is currently a Principal Consultant at Ricardo, where he brings both technical expertise and strategic insight to complex water sector challenges.

Sundowner events are open to anyone with an interest in the water industry, and present an opportunity to meet with other professionals, regardless of experience levels. This is a free event where you can grab a bite to eat and your first drink (beer, wine or soft) which is on the house thanks to GPA Engineering, after that you purchase your own drinks.
