The Young Water Professionals of the AWA's SA Branch are excited to invite you to the second of the 2023 SA Sundowner Series, for after-work drinks, with an interesting guest speaker and informal networking and discussion held at a new venue Electra House Hotel on Thursday 20th April 2023 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

The SA AWA YWP aims to empower emerging leaders to build water industry networks, grow their knowledge and sharpen their leadership skills in both formal and informal settings.  Join us for regular after-work Sundowner drinks and informal networking hosted every other month by the AWA SA Young Water Professionals. Special guest speakers will be featured throughout the series to explore a wide range of topics through a short presentation and discussion. These events are open to anyone with an interest in the water industry and present an opportunity to meet and catch up with other professionals.

This is a free event where you can grab your drink(s) of choice, however, please register your attendance.

Guest Speaker: Dr. Lin Lin Low - Supply Sustainability Manager, Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) & Director of North Para Environment Control P/L

Topic – Promoting Circular Solutions in Wine Making

Water is central to the wine industry. It is one of Treasury Wine Estates’ most critical production inputs. In the face of increasing competitive demands from urban uses, other horticultural crops, and minimum environmental flows water is emerging as a critical part of TWE's social license to operate. TWE acknowledges the company has a significant role to play in being a responsible steward of water in the regions in which it operates. Lin Lin will talk about the TWE approach to water stewardship and the ways the company treats wastewater as a valuable resource that can be recycled to offset demand on natural water systems and provide ongoing local community support.

Bio

Dr Lin Lin Low has been working in the wine and spirit industry throughout her career. Lin Lin previously worked for Accolade Wines and Tarac Technologies before joining Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) as Supply Sustainability Manager in June 2021. Her primary role is to drive the sustainability agenda across the supply chain to ensure TWE remains at the forefront of sustainable grape and wine production. She focuses on the implementation of environmental management systems, water and wastewater management, as well as driving technical and process efficiency projects. She is also a director of North Para Environment Control Pty Ltd which provides wastewater treatment services and supplies treated water for irrigation in Barossa.
