Artificial Intelligence in Water: Where Are We Headed?

Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries around the world, but what does it mean for the water sector in Queensland, and are we ready for it?

Join the Australian Water Association (AWA) on 10 September for a dynamic, thought-provoking panel discussion that brings together voices from consulting, utilities, and regulatory bodies to explore the real opportunities and challenges of AI in the water industry.

We may be a little behind the curve and that’s exactly why we’re having this conversation. It’s time to ask the difficult questions, unpick the complexity, and start thinking boldly about how we modernise.

This forum will present practical, honest conversations led by those navigating the front lines of AI adoption in water.

Our panelists will share firsthand insights about:

  • What’s working, what’s not, and why progress isn’t always straightforward
  • The role of data access, security, and governance in enabling (or blocking) innovation
  • How regulation is starting to respond to AI and what still needs to shift
  • Global trends and what Queensland can take away from them

We want you to leave feeling energised, motivated, and ready to bring fresh ideas back to your own teams. Whether you’re cautious, curious, or already experimenting with AI, come along to connect, challenge your thinking, and help shape the future of our sector.
