Join the NSW Regional Water Champions to discuss the impacts of PFAS on regional water utilities and the potential solutions available (or not available).
PFAS is an emerging issue within the water industry, both accumulating in the environment and potentially having long term health impacts on people when consumed. Although it poses a potential threat and there are solutions available to remove PFAS, the impact that it will have on regional water utilities has not been discussed in detail. With 90 water utilities in NSW of various sizes, the impacts that PFAS will have, especially with the introduction of the proposed Australian Drinking Water Guideline limits, will be far reaching and difficult to address.
This event brings together three speakers to discuss their viewpoint on PFAS, its impact as an emerging issue and the impacts that it will have, and is having, on regional water utilities. It will also provide the audience a chance to ask the speakers questions about PFAS and how we may be able to deal with the issue.
There will be five in-person hubs (with food available) as well as online attendance for those that can’t make it to a hub.
