Join us for a technical tour of NSW’s leading water research facilities to explore the cutting-edge research and innovations shaping the future of water management at the NSW Manly Hydraulics Laboratory (MHL) and UNSW Water Research Laboratory (WRL).
This tour offers a rare opportunity to experience firsthand the world-class facilities and projects driving advancements in hydraulics, coastal engineering, and water resource management. Whether you’re involved in the water industry or simply curious about the latest technologies, this visit will provide valuable insights into the applied research that helps solve today’s most complex water challenges.

Led by experts in the field, you will have a technical tour of the Manly Hydraulics Lab and Water Research Laboratory
Attendees will:
- Begin with a welcome and overview of the facility.
- Tour key areas of the lab to observe ongoing research and demonstrations of water-related technologies.
- Engage with professionals and researchers, with opportunities for Q&A throughout the tour.
- Network with fellow water industry professionals at the conclusion of the visit.
- When arriving, look for the yellow UNSW signs and proceed down the long driveway to the right on the corner of King Street
- If anyone is arriving by car, there is parking on King Street.
- The nearest bus stop is the corner of Condamine Street and King Street, Manly Vale (15 min walk). There is also a path at the southern end of Wandella Road that provides pedestrian access (15 min walk) from the bus stop on the corner of Allambie and Kentwell Roads, Allambie Heights.
- On arrival, please come to the reception
- Throughout the laboratory spaces there may be some uneven surfaces, so we do ask for everyone to wear appropriate closed toed footwear.
The event will be informal yet informative, allowing participants to gain in-depth insights into the latest water research developments.
