AWA Proposed New Constitution Information Sessions

AWA is hosting two online information sessions on the proposed new AWA Constitution. Join a session to learn more about the proposed changes, understand what they mean for AWA and ask questions.

AWA’s Board initiated a comprehensive review of its governing documents to ensure they remain contemporary, fit for purpose and support the Association into the future. AWA is now seeking member feedback on the proposed changes until Friday 11 September 2026.

We encourage all members to review the consultation materials below. Members can also attend an online information session to learn more and ask questions and provide written feedback via our online feedback form.

Review the proposed changes

The Proposed New Constitution Consultation Document provides a comparison of the current and proposed Constitution and explains the key changes and rationale for each. It also explains how the proposed new By-Laws have been amended to support the proposed new Constitution. We have also provided the full proposed new Constitution and draft By-Laws as supporting documents.

The draft By-Laws are provided as part of the consultation to show where procedural and operational detail has been proposed to move from the current Constitution, as well as other proposed updates. Whilst the Constitution requires approval from the members, the By-Laws are approved by the Board and as such, will not be put to the members for approval.

Provide your feedback

The information sessions are an opportunity to learn more and ask questions. To ensure feedback is formally captured and considered as part of the consultation, all feedback must be submitted through the online feedback form.


Following the consultation period, member feedback will be collated and considered by AWA’s Board, which may result in further amendments to the proposed new Constitution. Once finalised, the proposed new Constitution will be put to members at a General Meeting for members to formally vote on its adoption.
