Victoria’s Yarra Valley Water has announced the appointment of a new General Manager Distribution Services, with Bridie Fennessy set to take the position after acting in the role since August 2021.

Yarra Valley Water Managing Director Pat McCafferty said Fennessy’s leadership will help the utility to service its customers now and in future.

“Bridie’s an experienced leader who embodies our values and has a proven track record in achieving positive outcomes for our customers and business,” he said.

“She provides calm and focused leadership which inspires others to deliver effective customer-focused solutions which help to deliver on our purpose: to support the health and wellbeing of our customers and create a brighter future for the communities and natural environment.”

Fennessey has been providing leadership to key planning and service functions, including service response, operations, asset planning and fostering climate resilience

Fennessy joined Yarra Valley Water in 2015 and has worked as Divisional Manager Service Response, establishing a new division that has improved service for customers experiencing water and wastewater issues.

Prior to joining the water sector, Fennessy held roles in customer strategy, advocacy and public policy at PTV, the Public Transport Ombudsman and the Energy and Water Ombudsman of Victoria.

Fennessy holds a Bachelor of Arts and Laws from Monash University and was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
