Your Ozwater’19 survival guide
The doors to Australia’s largest water industry conference, Ozwater’19, open tomorrow in Melbourne. With more than 200 presentations and 230 trade exhibitors, there’s a lot to take in.
Here’s how to get the most out of your Ozwater’19 experience and ensure you don’t miss a thing.
Plan it out
Ozwater’19 features eight different conference streams that cover everything from excellence in operations and asset management, to working and engaging with customers, and servicing and supporting rural, remote and regional areas.
With so much industry knowledge on offer, it makes sense to plan your days. You won’t want to miss the nine keynote speakers (including one delivered in holographic form), but take a look at the program to pick the technical presentations, case studies, workshops and panels you want to attend.
Get connected with the Ozwater’19 event app. You don’t need to download it, simply click the link to create a personalised agenda, favourite and rate sessions, find exhibitors and personalise your feed. The app also recommends potential networking connections, so create a profile and expand your circle.
The theme for Ozwater’19 is ‘Transforming Our World’, which has helped shape all elements of the conference program, including putting a focus on sustainability.
Ozwater’19 is once again a bottled water free event, so look out for the tap water stations throughout the exhibition. Then there are the delegate satchels, which were made by volunteers from recycled fabrics, and the reusable sandwich wraps you’ll find inside.
On the floor
The exhibition floor is where you’ll find the latest in technology, including demonstrations of the newest innovations at Wood Theatre. There’s also the Aqua-demic Zone, which will highlight sustainability-focused research and projects, and delegate lounges where you can head for a well-deserved break.
Consult your buyers guide (you’ll find a copy in your delegate satchel) for a full list of exhibitors and their contact details.
As an Ozwater’19 delegate, you can receive technical papers and case studies instantly when you check into a session with your NFC smart badge. Tapping your badge at the 81 poster stations in the main exhibition hall will also allow you to access them electronically.
Finally, you can also get a PDF copy of presentations at the end of the conference, making it easy to take what you’ve learnt home with you.
Aside from loading up on water knowledge, Ozwater’19 is the perfect opportunity to network with industry colleagues. Where else can you find more than 4000 water nerds under the same roof?
Get the full Ozwater’19 experience by getting stuck into the social program. Don’t miss tonight’s welcome drinks from 6-8pm at the Crown Aviary, and happy hour at the Club House on the exhibition floor from 5.30pm tomorrow, which are both included with a full delegate registration.
And of course, Wednesday night will see hundreds of lucky guests attend the sold-out Gala Dinner, where the 2019 Australian Water Awards winners will be revealed!
