With a legacy of 40+ years, Carmel Krogh is no stranger to the water sector having been involved across many events, initiatives and important milestones culminating in Carmel being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her service to civil engineering. Carmel has also been a member of the AWA since 1989, a National Board Member since 2013, Association President (2019-2021) and this year, she was awarded the 2023 Exceptional Service Award as part of the National Water Awards Program.

To dive into Carmel's rich career history, we caught up with her to discuss how she became involved in the water sector as a trainee engineer (POGS – Professional Officer General Scale) with the Water Board in Sydney in 1980 through to present day with her career highlights and why Members should nominate for the National Water Awards, to be held at Ozwater'24 in Melbourne.
