SA STATE CONFERENCE 2018 - LEADERSHIP IN WATER

SA STATE CONFERENCE 2018 - LEADERSHIP IN WATER
This year’s South Australian State Conference will showcase the many ways in which South Australian water sector practitioners are leaders - and examine leadership challenges and needs for the sector moving forward.

The 2018 Conference will be held in the historic Science Exchange, in Adelaide's CBD.

LEADERSHIP IN WATER
This year's conference aims to explore current and emerging issues faced by water sector practitioners - and the different types of leadership needed to address these issues.

Keynote address

Dr André Taylor, Leadership Specialist, International WaterCentre

10 principles to improve leadership in the water sector

André’s personal mission is to help leaders to fulfil their potential and enable positive change through leadership development, team development and facilitation work.
He is a leadership development specialist, sustainability and water practitioner, educator, coach and facilitator.

He has worked in the water / waterway sector for most of his 27 year career. Over this time, he has worked in consultancies, local government, State government and in academia.

He has a Bachelor of Science with first-class honours, a Master of Environmental Management, and a PhD that examined forms of emergent leadership in the water sector.

Ms Mellissa Bradley, Water Sensitive SA
The development sector – our emerging urban water leaders

Mellissa has 25 years’ experience working within the fields of civil design, development assessment, policy development, environmental management and construction management for stormwater and wastewater re-use schemes.

Mellissa is the Program Manager for South Australia’s water sensitive urban design capacity building program, Water Sensitive SA, in conjunction with her role as SA’s Regional Manager for the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities. These complementary roles have a key focus on communicating the evidence base for water sensitive city transitions to decision makers, policy writers and practitioners, and providing the tools, guidelines and training needed by industry to apply this knowledge.

Her work with government and industry supports the cultural shift and technical know-how needed to mainstream water sensitive urban design practice for the creation of more liveable cities and towns.
