Specialist Network Member Circles

AWA’s 11 Specialist Networks provide a platform for members to share expertise across water management specialisations. From catchment management to water literacy and efficiency, members opt-in to hear from the networks of their choice. Interested? Then log in to our new membership portal to update your preferences!

The network members are represented by multidisciplinary committees of water professionals and practitioners committed to sharing information to drive a sustainable water future. One platform to bring network members together is a Member Circle forum, during which a topic is presented and discussed.

Some interesting Member Circles are coming up, featuring prominent Victorian thought leaders. These events are exclusive to AWA individual or corporate plus members who have selected the network as a point of interest. Members can update their preferences anytime online.

If you'd like to join any of these member circles, just get in touch with the AWA Member Engagement Manager assigned to that specialist network, listed at the bottom of each network's page.

The Water for All SN has a virtual Member Circle discussion on Monday 29 November 2021, from 12–1 pm AEDT, titled “Achieving water for all: Stories from around the world”. Guest speakers from WaterAid, EWB, World Bank, and Institute for Sustainable Futures-UTS will provide short practical stories from their work in the WASH sector before opening the discussion.

The Asset Management SN has a virtual Member Circle discussion on Tuesday 30 November, from 12-1 pm AEDT, titled “Making Safety a Way of Life in Asset Management”, featuring Daniel Faccio and David Green.

The Operations SN will meet virtually on Wednesday 1 December 2021 at 12-1 pm AEDT and present two digital case studies. These will be “Enhancing Regional Wastewater Treatment Using Machine Learning” and “Predicting failures in water and sewer networks”. Victorian member Quentin Bechet will feature in this discussion.

The Regional, Rural and Remote SN will hold a Member Circle on Tuesday 7 December 2021 at 12:30pm AEDT.

In case you missed it, the Catchment Management Specialist Network had a member circle earlier in November to discuss the Source Water Protection Statement and how we share these principles.
