Hydroplan has officially joined Pinion Advisory

Nationwide irrigation and water engineering consultancy, HydroPlan, officially joined the Pinion Advisory brand on 1 October 2022. Pinion Advisory is an independent, privately owned consultancy operating across agribusiness, water and environment in Australia and the US.

Pinon Advisory’s expanded national water team consists of over 40 water engineering, irrigation and environment specialists. With extensive experience in both non-potable and recycled water projects, including stormwater harvesting, dam management, on-farm irrigation design, stock and domestic water supply. Our team can take client ideas through the feasibility and planning stages of water development, environmental approvals and detailed design through construction, operations and ongoing environmental monitoring.

Key clients of Pinion Advisory’s water and environment team include water utilities, private agriculture, sports turf operators, local government, and food processing facilities. Our integrated team of civil and mechanical engineers, certified irrigation designers, project managers and drafters work alongside clients to deliver efficient, sustainable and cost-effective water solutions. Our expert agronomy team often work in parallel with the same clients to optimise the performance of irrigated turfs and crops, assist with irrigation optimisation and provide specialist plant health management issues such as nutrient budgets and salinity risk management. This alignment of services, and independence from any product suppliers, is our difference.

Pinion has a significant footprint around the country with flagships projects, including:

  • design and construction of a privately owned Bunyip Water (stormwater harvesting scheme in South Australia) supplying irrigation water to the Barossa
  • large-scale irrigation scheme design services for the state-owned Tasmanian Irrigation and ongoing operations and compliance management for various TasWater recycled water schemes
  • detailed design for the 1,600km long East Grampian Rural Pipeline project in Victoria
  • providing on-farm engineering support for the Wamuran Irrigation Scheme in Queensland.

The expanded Pinion Advisory team looks forward to ongoing engagement with AWA activities and members. Design Engineer Bridget Lindsay is an AWA YWP representative (SA Branch), while Sarah Jones (Manager Water & Environment) is a long-term member of the Tasmanian Branch committee.
