Help Bring Water Into Focus this National Water Week

National Water Week has officially launched following a morning tea hosted by the Australian Water Association (AWA), where we gathered to reflect on this year’s call to action: Bring Water Into Focus.

Bring Water Into Focus is a call to action for all Australians: to notice, to appreciate and to act. When we bring water into focus, we see not just a resource, but the lifeblood of our communities, our environment and our future.

AWA Chief Executive Corinne Cheeseman said National Water Week is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the way water underpins every aspect of our lives, and to inspire Australians to make choices that protect and value this vital resource.

“National Water Week is about looking closer at the role water plays in our daily lives – from the glass at the kitchen sink to the systems that keep our cities, towns and communities running,” she said.

“By understanding its true value, we empower ourselves to make better decisions – whether that’s saving water at home, supporting policies that protect rivers and catchments, or investing in the innovations that will secure a sustainable water future for generations to come.”
