Celebrating our water volunteer superheroes

This year, National Volunteer Week recognises the vital support that the millions of volunteers in our country provide to their communities.

Established in 1989, National Volunteer Week is the premier celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia. AWA has over 530 volunteers that provide their ideas, expertise and leadership. They contribute through our Board, Branch Committees, Specialist Network Committees, Water e-Journal Editorial Committee, Event Committees, and Awards and Paper review panels.

AWA was established by volunteers over 60 years ago and it is incredible to have so many passionate and dedicated volunteers continuing to give their time and working alongside our amazing team.

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme is ‘Something for Everyone’ highlighting that there’s a place for everyone in the world of volunteering. Whether you’re drawn to environmental causes, community welfare, education, sustainability or beyond, there’s a place where your unique skills and interests can flourish.

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers, today and every day, we celebrate you!
