The Young Water Professionals final event for the year is a cocktail event set so you can arrive after work on a Friday, and unwind while you listen to speakers from; DEWNR, SA Water, Buddy Technologies and Uniting Communities. 

We’ll hear from speakers with proven experience in increasing the sustainability of their organisation, protecting the environment and utilising technologies to enable innovative and sustainable practices to move forward. 

Update! Our speakers for the evening are:
  • Roch Cheroux – CEO, SA Water
  • Julia Grant – Executive Director, Water & Climate Change , Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources
  • Jim McGuire –  ‎General Manager Strategy, Performance and Innovation, SA Water
  • Beth Worrall – Marketing Manager, Buddy Platform
  • Gary Neave – Program Executive Uniting Communities

 The Department for Environment, Water and Natural Resources will present on the aims of the carbon neutral Adelaide program, its significance for the city and the wider state and the importance for business and individuals to strive to aid the city in achieving this ambitious goal of a carbon neutral, sustainable city. 

SA Water will also be there to present on the steps they are taking to improve business efficiencies, and make the environment more sustainable for future generations. 

With an office in Seattle, as well as Adelaide, Buddy Platform was the first Internet of Things business listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Focused on energy efficiency and smart cities, Buddy will share some ideas that can help us in our mission to achieve carbon neutrality.

Uniting Communities were the first organization in South Australia to will present on their view of what it means to be carbon neutral after becoming the first organisation in South Australia to be officially carbon neutral certified. Uniting Communities achieved this by aiming further than becoming carbon neutral; instead looking at beyond carbon neutral. 

There will be time for Q&A and networking, with a cocktail dinner following the presentations.
