The Brisbane City Amazing Race is in the form of a scavenger hunt with teams starting in allocated quadrants on a map that will be supplied before race commencement. Teams collect the required information and items around the course to acquire the most points. We challenge you to utilise the brains trust and physical skill of your team to maximise route and point accumulation strategy.
It is important that the AWA COVIDSafe Policy is adhered to at all times during the course of the event.
We all share a role in pursuing sustainable practices to manage the world’s most precious resource. The effects of climate change to the water cycle is highlighted in the recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report (August 2021). While racing around the CBD, consider the importance of balancing the urban landscape with greener solutions.
Teams are 4 to 6 people to adhere to social distancing requirements. For best success, we suggest teams look at diversifying – i.e. an ideal team would have a mix of tech and math whizzes, creative thinkers or trivia masters, and athletic champions or cheerleaders.
The team who accumulates the highest number of points at the end of the Race will be awarded a prestigious prize and the perpetual trophy.
There will also be a prize for the best dressed team in line with the sustainability theme.
Prizes will be announced during the networking event following the race.

The Australian Water Association has closely followed Government recommendations to develop COVIDSafe Guidelines for AWA events going forward. These guidelines will be in place at this event and have been developed to ensure attendee health and safety. Your support is also essential to keep this event COVIDSafe. We ask that delegates observe good hygiene and physical distancing at the event, where possible. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend the event. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org at least 24 hours prior to the event if you are unable to attend due to illness. Under these circumstances a transfer of your registration to a colleague will be accepted at no cost. If Government restrictions impact your ability to attend, or AWA's ability to hold the event, an AWA team member will be in touch to discuss your registration.
