The QLD AWA YWP subcommittee has officially launched its annual Mentoring Program with thirty six mentoring pairs signed up to participate in 2023.
The official kick-off event was on 1 February, joined by both online and in-person attendees. Mentees and mentors had the opportunity to initiate their first face-to-face conversation at the event as well as hear from Brian McIntosh (Education Director, International WaterCentre) on how to build a successful mentorship.
It was a great night as attendees networked over some light food and drinks, whilst online attendees also had the opportunity to network online. We thank the International Water Centre at Griffith University for being a continuing sponsor of this event and supporting the continual growth of our future leaders.
The YWP subcommittee is also working hard behind the scenes to plan the event calendar for the next year. We are also excited to see our Chair, Johanna Johnson, join Ozwater'23 in May as the QLD Young Water Professional finalist and wish her all the luck for the National Young Water Professional of the Year Award!
