Are you a Uni student who wonders what the Water Industry entails? Or is it not even on your radar? If you answered the above with a yes, then you should come join us for a Thursday night drink.

The Young Water Professionals of the AWA’s SA Branch are excited to invite you to the first University Sundowner Session. On Thursday 25th May 2023 at Adelaide UniBar the YWPs will be collaborating with the University of Adelaide to bring industry professional's career journey/pathways to students in a casual and engaging setting.

The SA AWA YWPs aim to empower emerging leaders to build water industry networks, grow their knowledge and sharpen their leaderships skills in both formal and informal settings. We encourage university students to join us for an after-Uni Sundowner drink, while listening to a panel discussion with four talented and successful Young Water Professionals.

Joining the panel we have:

  • Jack Carbone, Design and Project Manager at SA Water, Vice Chair AWA SA Young Water    Professionals
  • Jessica Bohorquez, Senior Consultant at Inside Infrastructure and Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Adelaide
  • Florence Choo, Scientist at SA Water and 2019 AWA National Student Water Prize Recipient
  • Bridget Lindsay, Lead Engineer at Pinion Advisory

The Water Industry has so much to offer incoming engineering and science graduates with career pathways in research, design, utilities, and operations among many others. This evening aims to introduce students to the pathways available to them in the Water Industry and the support that the Australian Water Association can provide as you embark on your career journey.

The evening will start with an introduction to each panelist, their career path and their passion for the industry. The event will then flow into an open panel discussion where attendees can ask questions and engage with the professionals. Following the panel session, attendees will be welcome to stay for a drink and some informal networking.

We can’t wait to see you there. The event is free to attend we just ask that you please register below.
