It’s a typical Queensland day - hot, humid, and something is building on the horizon.
Join the Queensland YWPs for an interactive, scenario-based Flood Game where you'll step into the role of a decision-maker responding to unfolding flood emergencies across the state.
Working as part of a community team, you'll face real-world challenges, make critical decisions under pressure, and navigate the complex realities of disaster response. Just like a real emergency, you won't know what's coming next, and there won't always be a clear or perfect answer.
As the situation evolves, you'll need to balance competing priorities, collaborate with others, and make the best decisions possible with the information available at the time.
Through this fast-paced and engaging experience, you'll gain insights into what it takes to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and adapt to flood events , the very essence of community resilience.
Will your community thrive under pressure, or will the flood catch you off guard?
Gather your team, test your decision-making skills, and find out.
Are you ready to play?
No technical expertise required, just bring your curiosity, creativity, and willingness to tackle the unexpected.
Everyone is welcome!
