Webinar - Dealing with Disasters (VIC)

Webinar - Dealing with Disasters (VIC)
With Australia currently facing two major crises resulting from Covid-9 and bushfires, we're fortunate to have a water industry that's adaptable and resourceful.

Our adapted WEBINAR series VIC Bushfire Recovery Hackathon aims to help tackle the bushfire recovery challenges as planned whilst adapting to the current physical distancing measures. As an introductory presentation as part of our Bushfire Recovery Hackathon, we are hosting a “Dealing with Disaster” webinar.

The effects of climate change and aging infrastructure have made emergency situations more commonplace, as is only too evident from recent bushfires. This webinar, “Dealing with Disaster”, will look at preparing for emergency events, maintaining essential services during events and managing the aftermath.

Rachael Brownstein,
Treatment and Environment Systems Officer at East Gippsland Water,
will cover the actions taken by East Gippsland Water to ensure the supply of drinking water to the townships of Omeo, Buchan and Mallacoota during the East Gippsland Bushfire crisis.

Rod Curtis, Manager Water Systems and Solutions at Western Water, has been heading up their COVID response taskforce from the get go and will talk about his experiences.

Damian Wells, Managing Director at Coliban Water, will present on Coliban's pro-active efforts and communications in reorganising Coliban Water's response team from the onset during the Covic19 pandemic
.

Wayne Charlton, Security & Emergency Management Specialist at Melbourne Water will discuss their response to both the bushfire and Covid19 crises.
