In an effort to prevent sewer spills into sensitive envrionments, TasWater sought out approaches to reduce the likelihood and impact of these events. One of the approaches investigated was to leverage live and historical data to provide an online monitoring tool to detect these events ahead of current detection methods. Working together with consultant Nukon, TasWater developed an online monitoring tool leveraging historical data in TasWater’s OSIsoft PI System and an installation of Seeq, an advance analytics engine . The aim of the online monitoring tool was to detect, ahead of current methods, a gradual blockage in the sewer system. Two primary methods of detecting blockages were investigated Time Between Pump Runs (Time to Fill) and Rate of Rise.

This webinar will feature a joint presentation by Matt Jordan (Manager Network Asset Performance, TasWater) and Andrew May (Principal, Nukon). Brad Davie, Vice President, AWA Tasmania will chair the webinar and facilitate Q&A time with the presenters.
