Webinar -Talking Water Together–National Reconciliation Week

Webinar -Talking Water Together–National Reconciliation Week
‘Talking Water Together’ is a special National Reconciliation Week event hosted by the Australian Water Association. This one hour online event features Jason B King, a proud Gunditjmara (Western Victoria – Lake Condah/Budj Bim) and Ngarigo (Southern NSW Monaro high plains) man who will be presenting on ‘Recognising and Managing for Aboriginal Values’. Following Jason’s presentation will be the exclusive premiere of our first video in a new series titled ‘Talking Water’, co-funded by both AWA & WSAA. The goal of this series is to capture and promote Indigenous water knowledge, stories and thoughts from the past and present, along with a vision for the future. In this first video, we hear from Aboriginal elders and custodians from the Western Arrernte people, Central Arrernte people and Warlpiri people in Central Australia. ‘Kwatja Ngkama’ is the Western Arrernte translation for ‘Talking Water’.
