What is a Mapathon?
Mapathons are coordinated mapping projects where volunteers collaborate to analyse satellite images and identify roads, buildings and infrastructure in the developing world – and then update online maps. Communities, organizations and governments use the upgraded maps in a range of situations, including delivering aid and responding to disasters. Mapathons use an online site for storing map data, for example, Google Maps.
The Mapathon session will be facilitated by Engineer Without Borders.
Join us to enjoy food, drinks and networking following the mapping session.
