SA SITE TOUR - NEW MURRAY BRIDGE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
Registrations are now closed for this tour of the planning, design and construction underway at the new Murray Bridge Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Brought to you in partnership between the SA Young Water Professionals Network and Technical Program Committee, the tour begins at SA Water house with breakfast and introductory presentations, before continuing on to Murray Bridge by chartered bus for the site tour. The bus will have us back in the city by lunch time.

SPEAKERS
Chas Allen – Senior Project Manager – SA Water
Wes Johnston – Project Manager – John Holland
Tim O’Connor – Principal Process Engineer – KBR

MURRAY BRIDGE
The new facility is being built on a site around 10 kilometers south of Murray Bridge, set back from Pfeiffer Road opposite the Brinkley Waste and Recycling Facility. The whole project, estimated to cost $52 million, includes the construction of a new underground pipeline connecting the plant to the township, new pumping stations along the pipeline route, and the gradual decommissioning of the existing treatment plant adjacent to the Murray Bridge Marina on the banks of the River Murray.

The new plant has been designed to meet the changing needs of the local community and cater for future growth. The treatment process will also be enhanced compared to the current plant. The planning and design process has drawn on input from local stakeholders, and is expected to deliver a range of social, environmental and economic benefits including reduced risk of odour, and discharge to the river during high flood events.

This event will provide an opportunity to understand more about the planning, design and construction phases of the project and to witness the new wastewater treatment plant part way through construction.
