Diversity in Water: Channeling Change in SA

Diversity in Water: Channeling Change in SA
Join us on 22 August as we explore multiple viewpoints and experiences of diversity and inclusion in the water industry.

About the event
The Australian Water Association's Channeling Change Program goal is to lead by example and show how encouraging the right behaviours can galvanise support for a more diverse and inclusive sector. Aligning with this goal this event is a unique opportunity to explore the issues, challenges, solutions, and benefits that come from striving for a more diverse and inclusive sector.  Join us to explore the topic from multiple viewpoints including individual experiences, engagement with community, and within organisations.
Our panelists will provide insights from within and beyond the water sector, speaking from personal experience and sharing learnings gained through implementation of diversity and inclusion programs in a range of industries.

From recruiting women to non-traditional roles, to personal outlooks on disability and inclusivity, reconciliation action planning, and how strategy can drive diversity and change in your organisation – our panelists have a wealth of experience to share.

*Gabby Shailer (Contract Analyst) SA Water; Living through stereotypes: putting people first
*John Sands (Organisational Development Manager) SA Power Networks; Gender diversity and recruiting into non-traditional roles
*Rachel Siddall (Manager Aboriginal Affairs) SA Water; Cultural diversity, SA Water's Reconciliation Action Plan, and inclusive engagement
*Mike Poynter (GM Compliance and Assurance) ASC Pty Ltd; ASC's diversity and inclusion program, challenges and benefits
*Michelle Ryan (Artistic Director, Restless Dance); Disability inclusion and awareness through the arts

Designed to create the opportunity for discussion, and to provide attendees with an increased understanding of the many ways that diversity benefits organisations, the program follows presentations from each panelist with a facilitated discussion.  The conversation will continue with nibbles and networking.
