Johanna Johnson is the Sustainability Projects Lead for Logan City Council. She has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry and Microbiology and a Master of Integrated Water Management. Utilising her background in science and integrated water management she specialises in innovative projects like Biosolids Gasification. Currently, Jo is a member of the QLD AWA YWP subcommittee volunteering her time to promote and support other young water professionals to develop a career in the water industry.
Mark Thomas has over 24 years’ experience in the design, construction and commissioning of water and wastewater infrastructure in Australia and in a number of International locations. He is a Design Manger with Downer Utilities and is a Chartered Professional Engineer and RPEQ in Mechanical Engineering and Project Management. Mark's current role is the Design Lead on the Logan Water Infrastructure Alliance where he manages the design team and has been the Design Manager on a number of significant projects, including the Flagstone WWTP upgrade, the new Cedar Grove Environmental Centre and has been actively involved with the Gasification project for Loganholme WWTP.
Brent Gibbs is a Process Engineer with 15 years’ experience in wastewater and water recycling design and commissioning across various locations across Australia. He has a background in fundamental wastewater treatment research, completing his PhD in 2004 on the process control and modelling of biological nutrient removal in activated sludge systems. Today, Brent is the Process Lead for Downer in QLD and works within the Logan Alliance across several treatment projects including Cedar Grove WWTP and the biosolids gasification project.
