NSW Legends of Water 2019
This event is now sold out. Please contact events@awa.asn.au for inquiries.
The NSW Branch is once again celebrating the Legends of Water for 2019! This is a night not to be missed as we recognise the leaders of the NSW water industry.
The NSW Legends of Water Dinner recognises the achievements of water industry leaders who have not only been committed to creating a more sustainable water future but have dedicated their careers to promoting the importance of water in their respective fields. It’s an iconic annual event that brings together attendees from across the water sector.
The three NSW Legends of Water for 2019 are:
Andrew Francis, Director Infrastructure, Parkes Shire Council
Andrew
Francis is Director Infrastructure at Parkes Shire Council and Chair of the Central NSW Councils’ Water Utilities Alliance. He is trained in Bioprocess and Environmental Engineering, WHS, Project Management and Training and Assessment. He has served as Chair of the Water Utilities Alliance since its inception in 2010 and is a strong advocate for collaborative Alliances as a model for the delivery of Local Water Utility services by Local Government to communities in regional NSW.
Dr Christobel Ferguson, Research Manager, Water Research Australia
Christobel has experience as a Project Director and Project Manager leading a water science consulting team for ALS Water Resources and GHD. She spent several years managing a portfolio of Research and Development projects for Actew (now Icon Water), with specific focus on addressing emerging issues of concern including microbial and chemical contaminants and catchment management. More recently her focus has been the management of interdisciplinary technical teams to solve complex problems in water information, policy and planning for NSW government. Her vision is to bring research and technology innovations to the water sector to achieve sustainable and productive outcomes from the management of Australia’s natural resources.
Bernard Clancy, Water Market Leader, GHD
Bernard is currently the Sydney Region Water Market Leader for GHD and a member of the Sydney Regional Management Team. He is a civil engineer with over twenty eight years of experience in planning and delivering water and wastewater related projects. Following graduation from UNSW, he briefly worked as a research officer at UNSW before commencing his consulting career by joining SKM (now Jacobs) in 1989. He has maintained technical career as he developed his project and business leadership skills throughout his career which has included 11 years at MWH (now Stantec), 3 years as a sole trader working with Sydney Water on the Western Sydney Recycled Water Plant and now over 10 years at GHD. He has two daughters , the youngest completing her HSC this year, and loves music and cycling.
Join the NSW Branch in celebrating these three legends!
