SA YWP Sundowner
SA YWP AUGUST SUNDOWNER - WATER AND HEALTH

The Young Water Professionals of the SA AWA Branch are excited to invite you to their fourth event in their 2021 SA Sundowner series. Join the YWP’s for after-work drinks, an interesting guest speaker and informal networking and discussion held on the Thursday 19th August 2021 from 5:15pm to 6:30pm.

Sundowners are a series of events hosted by the YWP’s on the third Thursday of every other month. Special guests are invited throughout the series to explore a wide range of topics through a short presentation and discussion.

These events are open to anyone with an interest in the water industry and present an opportunity to meet and catch up with other professionals.

This is a free event where you can grab your drink(s) of choice, however registration at the venue is required to ensure safety of all.

We really look forward to seeing you all in person!

Guest Speaker

Harriet Whiley, Senior Lecturer at Flinders University, PhD Environmental Microbiology

Topic - Water and Health

Water is a huge part of our day-to-day lives, and ensuring the water we come into contact with is safe and free from pathogens is crucial in keeping the community safe and healthy.

Harriet will be sharing her contributions to public health by speaking with us about her water quality research, specifically her work on controlling opportunistic premise plumbing pathogens, and water as a source of antimicrobial resistant healthcare infections.

Come and learn more about this interesting realm of research with Harriet, and understand some of the work that goes on to ensure public safety with regard to water!
