Source QLD – The bi-monthly QLD branch newsletter
Source QLD would not be possible without the contributions of our Queensland members. Special acknowledgement must go to Rod Lehmann for his editorial support over many years. Previously known as "Water Talk" Source QLD looks at local industry issues and profiles QLD members and companies, please do get in touch with content suggestions. Our new editorial team, Jenny Danslow, Courtney Brown, Sharon James, Rod Lehman, Peter Griffiths, Richard Savage, Steve Tansley and Dr. Sandra Hall are working hard to source articles of great relevance and interest.
QLD Mentoring program
The Australian water industry is facing a significant skills challenge requiring both recruitment and retention strategies. The water industry would encounter serious workforce loss in the medium to long term future unless there was an explicit attempt to transfer tacit knowledge and consequently retain skills and knowledge within the industry.
This Mentoring program will be an effective way to develop skills via the transfer of knowledge from experienced to less-experienced personnel. The program is an annual event with the launch held early in the first quarter of the year. More information.
Student Engagement Program
The QLD Branch Committee played a huge part in the development of the Association’s new Student Engagement Program, a challenge to the water industry to get involved and help develop our future water professionals. Read more about the program here.
