The 2018 Australian Water Association VIC Mentoring Program Launch Breakfast was a success with a total of 92 registrants for the event. Hosted by Stantec in their Southbank offices, the breakfast launch allowed newly paired mentor-mentees to officially meet and undertake the first stages of their partnership.
Celeste Ward facilitated an engaging and informative session with our panel of speakers: Soyun Punyadasa, Ali Rahimi, Amanda Hazell and Lydia Wong in a ‘fireside chat’ dialogue. The event started with two pairs of mentor-mentees sharing their experiences and advice on how to start and maintain a mutually beneficial partnership.
The panel of speakers provided tangible and insightful answers to questions relating to how mentor-mentee partnerships should function as well as personal accounts of what has allowed them to maintain their current partnership. These insights allowed for the room of participants to engage with each other, develop a level of trust and plan out the basic agreement of their formal 12-month partnership which will hopefully lead to many more years of friendship and guidance.
We would like to thank the participants, panel, organisers, and of course our loyal host sponsor Stantec and support sponsor ANZ.
