AWA is the leading water sector body in Australia. Established in 1962, AWA is an independent and not for profit association, providing a voice for water professionals around Australia. We represent thousands of water professionals across all water disciplines. Our membership is diverse and includes engineers, scientists, consultants and environmental experts as well as large water utilities and private sector companies.

The NT Branch has an excellent tradition of providing members with the opportunity to associate with industry colleagues in a relaxed, informal setting, whilst examining the local challenges facing NT water professionals. The Branch delivers of a variety of events and programs including technical seminars, a local conference and social activities. With an aim to inform, engage and involve NT members, the branch also provides updates on local water industry news and information through regular branch communications

Water in The Bush - NT Branch Conference 2011

Water in the Bush aims to give water practitioners the opportunity to hear about current activities and issues within the NT water industry. The annual event brings together members of the NT water sector to present research and discuss current and emerging water related issues in both a local and national context.

This year’s event will feature an opening address by Andrew Campbell entitled “Managing water in a carbon, energy, and nutrient-constrained world” . Other key topics include environmental assessment and management of mining activity, water resource management and infrastructure project delivery.
