Membrane integrity testing, health based targets and ...
The integrity of membranes at the Bray Park Water Treatment Plant (BPWTP) was reviewed in light of draft Health Based Targets (HBTs) guidance. The sensitivity of integrity testing calculations was investigated to better inform the discussion around the reduction in risk obtained in replacing membranes. The findings demonstrate that the output of integrity testing, the calculated Log Reduction Value (LRV), is highly sensitive to operating parameters and assumptions used in the calculations. This shows that whilst demonstrated as being a valid measure of integrity, care should be taken in using LRV alone to drive membrane replacement.
