Aeration diffuser monitoring and care
Activated sludge aeration systems typically consume 50% or more of total WWTP power. Diffused air systems are now much more widely used than surface aerators because of their higher aeration efficiencies but, in reality, much of their initial efficiency advantage is lost through deteriorating diffuser condition. This paper describes advanced techniques in diffuser condition monitoring, and also outlines different methods of maintaining high efficiency and extending their effective service life
