AWA’s Master Classes aim to boost professional skills and expertise in  management and delivery of critical water infrastructure.  Some classes are focused on specific technical competencies, others on delivery,  financing, leadership and legal aspects of water businesses.  All the classes combine a mix of the theoretical and practical, include class exercises and discussions.

Master Classes are run over two days.  There is a maximum of 28 attendees per class with the goal of encouraging discussion among participants about the issues and case studies presented.  Networking and learning from one another is equally as important as the information covered in the formal teaching mode.  The Classes run over two days.

The 2010 Water Infrastructure Project Management Program

The Program is intended to provide a basic overview of the project structures, funding mechanisms and generalised planning requirements for water infrastructure projects.  An emphasis will be placed on management issues associated with water recycling projects, the risks associated with water infrastructure project and the crucial points within the planning and project approvals process where participating parties need to achieve compromises.

In common with all previous management style Master Classes, this Water Infrastructure Project Management class will take a only limited number of participants.  This strategy ensures that there is ample opportunity for discussion of various aspects of contracts, funding and risk management can be discussed at length.
