Best Water e-Journal Paper Award

All papers published on Water e-Journal will be eligible for consideration for Best Water e-Journal Paper (formerly Best Water Journal Paper, formerly the Guy Parker Award).

Papers will be judged by our technical advisory committee and shortlisted for the annual award, which will be announced at Ozwater.

2019 Award Winner

A New Approach to Assessing Water Quality Risk

Published in Water e-Journal, Volume 3 Issue 3, 5 September 2018. 

This paper highlights the robust model TasWater has developed to assess and manage water quality risk. The visual assessment tool plots the results onto a single chart, to allow for visualisation and prioritisation of water quality risk reduction activities across all 51 of TasWater’s potable drinking water systems. This has allowed for the development of efficient programs of operational improvements and capital upgrades to reduce risk to consumers. This paper is a valuable contribution to water industry knowledge in Australia.
