Fact Sheet: Desalination
The following links take you to external sites with further information on Membranes and Desalination issues.
IWA Specialist Groups
The Australian Water Association has a close relationship with IWA, both within Australia and internationally. Many of the Australian Water Association's Specialist Networks cover similar areas of the water industry to IWA's Specialist Groups.
Below are links to those Specialist Groups that we feel will be of most relevance to the Membranes & Desalination Specialist network and may provide a more international perspective.
DOW Water Academy
The Water Academy is an excellent resource for building your technical knowledge, learning new tactics for increasing efficiencies, and discovering best practices for optimizing performance at your facility.
American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA)
The American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) provides broad opportunities for the exchange of technical, operational and financial information among individuals and organisations interested in membrane technologies. As the leading advocate of membrane processes in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America, AMTA is a strong voice for regulatory and legislative reforms essential to the understanding, acceptance and utilization of membrane technologies.
The AMTA offers access to their proprietary Fact Sheets, a series of technical papers authored specifically for AMTA by professionals in every field of water treatment expertise. Non AMTA members can get temporary access by providing contact information. Fact Sheets provide information on every aspect of membrane technology, system design, application, operation, and key industry definitions. They include summarised case studies, technical overviews, and information useful to membrane system designers, operators, regulatory agencies, academia, and the general public.
Fact Sheets can be used to help educate the public on water treatment technologies and advance the benefits of membrane treatment to improve water quality and expand potential water supplies
