The Tasmanian Branch of the Australian Water Association communicates local water industry issues to its members & stakeholders through regular forums, networking opportunities and newsletters.
The Branch delivers a variety of events and programs including Technical Sessions & One Day Seminars, an annual state conference, “Where the Waters Meet" and the Galah Dinner & Debate.
In 2012 the Branch introduced an awards program in line with the Australian Water Association National Water Awards. The Tasmanian Water Environment Merit Award (TWEMA) is awarded by the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Water Association for a project, initiative, product or service which has achieved outstanding management or development of water resources on a sustainable basis in Tasmania in the past three to four years.

The call for nominations to join the TAS Branch Committee is now open
- this is an opportunity to contribute to the Tasmanian water industry, as well as furthering your professional development with a friendly and inspiring group of fellow Committee members. 2017-18 promises to be a stimulating and rewarding year as we look for new opportunities to drive growth in the sector and new ways to increase member satisfaction.
Members of the Australian Water Association are encouraged to nominate for positions on the TAS Branch Committee. The nomination form for the 2017 TAS Branch Committee can be accessed here
