Journal of the Australian Water Association

Water presents a comprehensive overview of the industry including scientific, research and other technical papers, industry reports, news and happenings in a high quality magazine format. It keeps readers informed about developments in the water and wastewater industry both in Australia and overseas, with eight issues per year - February, March, May, June, August, September, November and December. 

Distribution
Water is sent to all corporate and individual members of the AWA, representing over 5,000 water industry professionals and decision makers. Copies are also sent to state and university libraries, Ministers of Resources and Environment, selected environment groups, overseas affiliated organisations, allied learned societies, industry associations, selected government agencies, media and trade agencies.

Single issues are available for $12.50 plus postage and handling, and can be ordered by emailing bookshop@awa.asn.au

Editorial Submissions – Technical Papers

All submissions of papers intended for the main body of the journal should be emailed to both the Technical Editor and to Journal.

Submitted papers will be tabled at a monthly Journal Committee meeting where, if appropriate, it will be assigned to referees. Their comments will be passed back to the principal author. If accepted and after any comments have been dealt with, the final paper can be emailed with the text in MS Word but with high resolution graphics (300 dpi tiff, jpg or eps files - zip disks or CD accepted) in separate files. Hard copy photos and graphics suitable for scanning by the publisher can be mailed to -

Authors should be mindful that Water Journal is published in a 3 column ‘magazine’ format rather than the full-page format of Word documents. Graphics should be set up so that they will still be clearly legible when reduced to two-column size (about 12cm wide). Tables and figures need to be numbered with the appropriate reference in the text e.g. see Figure 1, not just placed in the text with a reference as they may end up anywhere on the page when typeset.
